Treatment Approach

Dr. Robinson’s treatment orientation utilizes a combination of psychodynamic, family systems, developmental, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness approaches to best fit the needs of her clients.  Dr. Robinson believes that increasing a client’s self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present thinking and behavior patterns coupled with teaching her clients effective emotion regulation, communication, and self-care techniques allows them to break away from old, ineffective, and at times, self- destructive patterns.  Dr. Robinson helps her clients use their existing strengths to gain insight and understanding to increase motivation and achieve greater intimacy and connection in relationships.
